Steve Remick worked for a year in Boston at Jordan Marsh’s in-house
design firm but couldn’t endure the commute. He went on to start a
painting and paperhanging company. Steve, his family, and the
business moved to Dartmouth where it grew that business to a dozen
employees.
He and Anne have raised a son and daughter who are now adults.
Steve slowly reduced the size of his business to one employee –
Steve Remick – to concentrate on his art.
Although he mostly paints landscapes and abstracts, he returned to
Plein air in 2016 and, most recently, due to the pandemic, has
executed portraits of COVID-19 healthcare workers which have gained
a significant amount of attention. He was featured in an article in
Artscope Magazine for this body of work.
Listen in on the conversation as The Artist Index’s host, Ron
Fortier, speaks with Steve Remick about his life and work and how
the pandemic has affected him as an artist and much more.
